Nothing new. Cold & raining a misty rain. I had a letter from Sister Jane. All are well. A good many letters comes here now as nearly every one about here has friends gone. They have a battle nearly every week in VA., the Confederates gain the day. I made Jim’s coat today. Broke my machine, not much only the reel that holds the spool in slipping out. Newt Taylor fixed it this evening so I can go along tomorrow with my sewing. Taylor moved yesterday to one of the cabins on the hill yesterday. I have not seen Mary, nor do I care to see her. That part of Mr. Henry’s family have never treated me with any kindred feeling so I shall not trouble myself about them.
