We got up late this morning. It rained last night & this morning. The wind is from the South & cold. Mr. Henry is going to Asheville today to see them muster as they start tomorrow. Dora had a letter from Sister Jane yesterday. She is not at all satisfied. I fear never will be. She spoke a little of coming back to the examination. Mr. Henry bought the children some shoes yesterday. Mr. Henry, Dora & I took a long walk this morning & got a good many wild flowers. We went down the creek & up through the widening field. He did not go to Asheville this evening as we got back from walk at 1 o’clock & they paraded at 3. Late in the evening Mr. Henry, Dora & I went to the Sulphur Springs & came back by the old hotel place. The place looks lonely.
