Mr. Henry got his sewing machine home today. Dora and I worked nearly all day trying to get it to going right. Did but little sewing. Hemmed some sheets. Mr. Henry started to Hendersonville today to sell some flour, to be gone a day or two. Everything is in a whirl of excitement about the war. 5,000 troops have already been called to Richmond Va. I do trust & hope we may not have war.
