Cornelia H., age 25, North Carolina

I made Peter’s shirt, got done soon after dinner & then began to turf the lower side of my walk. Brought dirt out of the garden, Uncle Sam is working in there. John went Tuesday after wheat to R. P. Wells & got back today. Parker went after him this morning. Fannie helped me in the yard after she came back from D. Ledford’s. She went to get her soap kit. He has been hooping it. We got the turfing nearly half done. Atheline not very well. She attended Willie. Mr. Henry got us two lbs. of coffee in Asheville today. He is so good to me.
