A very warm morning. We dressed this morning without fire, the first morning this summer. Zona very fretful. The others all well. Willie is growing finely. Mr. Henry gone off somewhere on the farm. The children are all at play whilst I write.
There has been some fighting between the North & South, not a great deal of damage on either side. Oh! how many hearts are sent asunder at the thoughts of loved ones in the battle field. I feel as if my life would be a burthen if my dear husband should go. What would become of me & my little ones God only knows.
