Dora & I made Sam a pair of pants Sister Jane gave him. She finished them by dinner. We all went to Asheville this evening to see them in camps & I did a little shopping, got a calico dress & some other little things. Dora got some candy for Zona & a little engine for Pinck. Matt went down to Dr. Neilson’s after some hankerchiefs they left there but Mrs. Neilson was not at home. We went back to the encampment & seen them on dress parade. It was sundown before we left Asheville. The moon shone bright before we got home. Berry did not go. We went in Pa’s carriage, Zona & Pinck too. Mr. Henry got Matt & Dora some books for birthday presents today.
