Cornelia H., age 25, North Carolina

I have given over the loom & gone to finish Willie’s apron. All are well. I finished heeling some stockings for the children before supper so I sewed till bedtime. Mr. Boyd sits in my room till he goes to bed. Atheline sleeps in the room with me. Mr. Henry came home after eight at night. It has been raining all day, a mist rain but about dark it began in earnest & Mr. Henry very wet when he got home.  *(Fear in North Carolina: The Civil War Journals and Letters of the Henry Family, Eds.
