Cornelia H., age 25, North Carolina

I went to the Academy to preaching, heard a good serman from Mr. Byrd. It is a two days meeting. Conference sets before long in Greenville Ten. The ministers are on their way now. Mr. W. Renolds was out today with Uncle Jonnie. Mr. Henry gone off to a muster somewhere. George & John gone after wheat to Bailey’s. Finished Willie’s dress yesterday. I have done nothing today worth notice.  *(Fear in North Carolina: The Civil War Journals and Letters of the Henry Family, Eds. Karen L. Clinard and Richard Russell, used with permission.)
