Marcy S., age 16, Tennessee

Cloudy at first, cleared — beautiful, mild. In history, Bunny sat in the back of the room for awhile. Had test in typing. Bad grade. So beautiful and breezy outside. Glee Club sang at Rotary, so typing class was prolonged. Some men came last period and I had to show them to Mrs. Geasland, etc. Fun. After school I went to Ruth’s with Helen, Roberta, and two others while they practiced a play. I sat outside with Pan. Home about 4:15. Very beautiful Spring afternoon. Clouds coming up. Practiced. At night we practiced. Read magazine. G.L. said upon seeing me at noon, “Here comes that pretty Canadian” — I contradicted with: “German.”
