Didn’t even see Chris until after 6th when he gave me and Renee a ride to her house. But he was still being a dick. I don’t think I like him anymore — his attitude makes him ugly. Ashley, Zach, and Julie walked 2 Renee’s. Mom picked me up. Did homework and story. Went 2 Los Tres with Eddie, etc. Didn’t do Driver’s Ed today, obviously.

Up just before 5:00, dressed and down to get breakfast. Made our beds, ate and washed dishes just a few minutes behind schedule. Couldn’t make any time. Kept running into fog in places. Lo and K.J. loaded car and left at 7:00. A beautiful day and all enjoyed everything. K.J. settled and was going to nap a little before supper. We left her at 4:00, she very tired too. Reached Beloit at 11:00. Stayed for 1 hr. and Lo relaxed, reached home 12:30 and right to bed.

I got up feeling quite miserable this morning and have been dampish all day. Kate and Jessie Neill went to church today and I took care of the baby. Wrote a letter to ma today and read my Art Journal and Detroit Tribune through. Kate has been suffering with a headache this afternoon. We had melon of our own growing to eat today.

Mr. Henry came home about 1 o’clock last night. I was rejoiced to see him. I was getting uneasy about him. He has been very well since he left, came up by Pa’s. They are all well down there. Nothing new. Col. Gadberry was killed in the last engagement at Manassas. No other casualties that I know. At least I have not seen any in the papers. I have done nothing today but knit.

Up, and at my Office all the morning, and after dinner all the afternoon in my house with Batelier shut up, drawing up my defence to the Duke of York upon his great letter, which I have industriously taken this opportunity of doing for my future use. At it late, and my mind and head mighty full of it all night.
