Walked in2 Ms. Dunn’s room to look and see if we had any homework. I looked at the board and turned to walk out, but Chris said, “Bye,” like he was expecting it. I just made eye contact and walked out. Ha! Drove after school — passed. It was fun. Went 2 Renee’s 4 a little get-together. Paged Chris (d’oh!), but he never called. Not worried. Steven picked me up at 10:30. Story.

Kate did her washing this forenoon. I have got such a bad cold that I feel very unwell. I picked some of our apples this afternoon. It sprinkled several times this afternoon and tonight it is raining quite a little. I went up town this evening and got the mail. Received a letter from Will Stevens. Walked back with Mr. Huntington.

Mail brought no news more than we have heard. A good many letters came to the office today but none to us. I read a good deal & knit some. We took a ride this morning up to the grave yard. Zona & Willie went also. It was very pleasant. The sun shone rather warm as we came back. Pinck staid with his Papa. Bob Tidwell came this evening. I did not know him.

At it again in the morning, and then to the Office, where till noon, and I do see great whispering among my brethren about their replies to the Duke of York, which vexed me, though I know no reason for it; for I have no manner of ground to fear them. At noon home to dinner, and, after dinner, to work all the afternoon again. At home late, and so to bed.
