I fussed around measuring land and doing odd jobs this forenoon. Mr. Betts brought my fruit trees and vines just before noon and I heeled them in this afternoon. Kate went after flowers with Jessie Neil this afternoon.

It has been a beautiful day. We went to church this forenoon, it was a memorial service for the late Mrs. A. Waters. We took dinner ant Neills and Fred hitched a horse up for Kate and Jessie to drive and we footed it around by Crystal Lake and his farm.

I dug out 11 stumps this forenoon, and set some stump piles on fire. I cut my hand with the pruning knife this afternoon and then I quit work. Went up town and got the mail and called at Dr. Taylors.

It rained very hard this morning and I didn’t do much but write this forenoon. It was pleasant this afternoon and I picked up and logged in the slashing. It has grown very cool. Kate and I called at Mr. Morrows tonight.

Fred Neill had Artie Hern harrowing for me today. I staked out the ground for the plum and pear orchard and planted 10 plum & 6 pear trees. Fred Waters sawed some oats and I sowed some clover seed. It rained some today noon. It is cold tonight.

I got up this morning at 5 o’clock and sowed clover seed. Kate and I set out 54 plum trees today. I felt very tired at noon. I got a P.O. order from pa for $100 to buy a horse with. Fred Waters is staying here tonight.

I set out 35 Peach trees on the hill today. Fred Waters was putting out trees today. Kate went up to Mr. Judson’s this afternoon and Fred and I went up and took supper there, we had a pleasant time. It sprinkled some tonight.

We got up at 4 this morning and took the train at 5:15. Mrs Taylor left us at Reed City. Robert Tufts was conductor on our train to Saginaw. It has been a warm day. We met the Rev. Mr. Bailey at Wayne Jc. Pa and Willie met us at Delhi and we are in our old home again tonight.
