I husked corn this forenoon. Kate, Effie and I went over and got Nellie and went to Dexter this afternoon. The folks finished husking this afternoon. It has been another nice warm day. We got 3 gallons of cider jell at Dexter.

I helped make out the official returns of yesterdays election, today, and my bill for services was audited and allowed. Kate, Effie and Nellie went to Dexter and had some tintypes taken. Kate and I are at father Quells tonight. It has been a fair day.

I brought a cow home this morning, that father Queal gave Kate. Henry helped me as far as Osbert Williams’s. I went to Delhi this afternoon and put up an advertisement in the P.O. for an evening class in Book-keeping. Kate came home tonight.

I made out an advertisement and went to Whitmore Lake this afternoon and put it up in the Post Office there. We went to Dexter tonight and heard Dr. Ramsay lecture on “sky wonders.” It looks like snow.

I hoed out the strawberry bed today. Went to Delhi this afternoon, but learned that there would be no chance for a book-keeping class there. We had quite a snow squall this afternoon, it was the first this season. It is clear tonight and freezing. Pa and Effie have gone over to Cranson’s tonight.

The thermometer indicated but 22 above 0 this morning and the ground was frozen hard. Went to church this forenoon and stayed to Sunday school. Pa wen t and got Alice this morning and she is sick tonight. It has been a cold day, freezing all the time.

We have been working at the sheep shed all day, taking off the top and straightening it up all around. We went to the swamp and got some poles toward night. Alice is well enought tonight to talk rapidly. I feel too tired to study tonight.

We got up early and went at the sheep-shed. We got the rails and straw on the roof this forenoon and a load of stalks. It began to to snow just after noon. We finished covering the shed. Kate and I have resolved to spend 1/2 hour studying Astronomy each evening.

I took Alice to Dexter to take the train this forenoon. Took dinner at father Quells. Henry and I went to Ann Arbor this afternoon. I took Fred Waters watch down to Arnold for repairs. I got a tin spice box for ma to send Uncle John Twainley [?]. Henry staid in A.A. It has been a misty dreary day.

We drew the last of our corn stalks today. It has been cold and windy and froze the most to the time. It was so bad tonight that we did not go to the Reading Circle meeting at Mr. Weston’s. Kate and I studied astronomy. I studied Grammer and Artithmetic, too.

It was  cold this morning, but it cleared off and was pleasant. The farmers club met here today. There was a good crowd and we had stables and sheds full of horses. I helped pass the dinner around. Kate Ball is staying with Effie tonight.

It has been some warmer and very pleasant today. Went to church this forenoon. The anthem we sang made some reach for the upper tones. Henry Queal took Kate Ball home this afternoon. I have been thinking of going to Detroit to school, but have about given it up.

I went over to Van ripers this forenoon and got the mustang pony grandfather Queal owned. I am going to try him an dsee if he would be good for us up north. Kate and I went to Ann Arbor this afternoon. We drove the pony. Made some calls, etc.

Pa drew 2 loads of wood to Dexter for Dr. Chase today. I finished pruning grape vines this forenoon. I hitched the poney on the stoneboat, this afternoon and drew a little wood to try him. He did well. Esther Johnson visited here this afternoon. It looks stormy tonight.

It rained all last night. Kate and I drove the pony over to father Queals this forenoon. It looks as though we might own him someday. It rained again all this afternoon. Funeral services for Geo. William’s little boy were held at the church this afternoon.

The wind blew hard all last night, and all day today accompanied by snow squalls. It still howls. I have been studying the most of the day. Kate and Effie went to John Williams’ this afternoon and I went down tonight and came back with them. Effie has joined Kate and I in the study of Astronomy.

It was only 10 above 0 this morning.  I wrote copies and practiced this forenoon. Went to Scio with pa, after a  grist this afternoon. As we were unloading,  Rock got scared. Kicked pa terribly, threw me out of the buggy and then ran away. I thought pa was killed, but he came to and I brought him home. I talked on penmanship tonight in the school house at Blodgettes.
